This course offers a wide range of different texts to deal with: literary texts ( e.g. short stories - both British and American - extracts from dramas, mostly classical and modern ones, and poetry. Here you are expected to understand literature and its various ways of expressing your ideas (e.g. comparison, metaphore, comparison and the use of effects of so to speak "bizarre syntax or words...)
Furthermore you will be informed about life and work of writers, poets.
Then we will also deal with non - literally texts, mostly up - to - date ones to show and explain the various aspects of British life and current conflicts. So you should learn to analyse literature and you should try to express yourself and your ideas in English.
